10 REASONS WHY FMCG CAN'T BE SUCCESSFUL IN NETWORK MARKETING

FMCG ITSELF SAYS FAST MOVING CONSUMER GOOD

Product AvailabilityOne of the very first Reason itself says by word "FMCG" fast moving consumer good, Product availability must be locally. If not available locally then customer is not coming again.

Product Range - As we Know that fmcg product is very vast, Product Range must be wide.If a customer want Good night, he will not going to take any other, or the very first product he ask & not get than he will never come.

Product as per Order - If Products are not available as per order than success will far away, because any company itself can't decide without any support of local franchiser which product is going to sell at which place.

Income Levels - Due to low Margin on daily need products, division of income level is very low.

Need Strong Management support by Company - Strong support is required to success franchiser in every aspect. i.e. supply chain Management, Marketing Strategy at franchise level.

Initial support in setup

Marketing Strategy at franchise level.

Product Return Policy - Product should be returned in case of expiry condition or not in the order list.

Strong Background financially as a Company - Company should be financially sound to experiment different strategy to get success.

Planning - Expertise Practices should be done in Planning based on Knowledge.

DOES MINERAL WATER WHICH WE DRINKS CONTAIN MINERALS ?

HERE ARE SOME LOGICAL FACTS ABOUT MINERAL WATER WE ARE DRINKING IN OUR DAILY LIFE

  • A solution Conduct Current when negative and positive ions randomly dissolve in it to carry a charge.
  • So pure water(Distilled) does not conduct electricity because it does not free up enough ions, positive and negative.
  • In case of Mineral water it contains minerals such as salts & sulpur compounds, so it carry charge.
Here is the Demonstration to show that the mineral water of any brand or even any purifier does not contain any mineral.......

  • Human body is made of 70% of water, so it need all essential minerals to boost our Immune system.

  • Minerals are the nutrients that exist in the body, and are as essential as our need for oxygen to sustain life. Minerals are also found in organic and inorganic combinations in food. In the body only 5% of the human body weight is mineral matter, vital to all mental & physical processes & for total well being. They are most important factors in maintaining all physiological processes, are constituents of the teeth, bones, tissues, blood, muscle, and nerve cells.
  • Minerals are essential for good health. The body utilizes over 80 minerals for maximum function. Because our plants and soils are so nutrient depleted, even if we eat the healthiest foods, we are not getting all the minerals we need. Minerals are very important in keeping the blood and tissue fluids from either becoming too acid or too alkaline and they allow other nutrients to pass into the bloodstream, and aid in transporting nutrients to the cells. They also draw chemicals in & out of the cells. A slight change in the blood concentration of important minerals can rapidly endanger life.

Many Benefits of Different Minerals:

  • Calcium, the structural element, is found mainly in our bones. Calcium also regulates cell membrane permeability to control nerve impulse transmission and muscle contraction. It is important for blood clotting, and it regulates hormonal secretion and cell division.
  • Magnesium is named after the Greek city of Magnesia, where large deposits of magnesium carbonate were found centuries ago. Magnesium is the bright and shining mineral. It is required for over 500 enzymes that regulate sugar metabolism, energy production, cell membrane permeability, and muscle and nerve conduction. Most people need more magnesium than they are eating because food refining strips away magnesium. Deficiency causes muscle cramps, weakness, depression and fatigue. Magnesium works closely with potassium and is a calcium antagonist.
  • Sodium is the volatility and the solvent mineral. It helps regulate blood pressure, fluid balance, transport of carbon dioxide, and affects cell membrane permeability and other cell membrane functions. Deficiency causes fatigue and fluid imbalances such as low blood pressure.
  • Potassium is another solvent mineral. It is also essential for regulation of the heart beat, fluid balance and to maintain blood pressure. It is also needed for buffering the blood, and cell membrane effects including nerve transmission and muscular contraction. Deficiency can cause cramps, fatigue and heart irregularities.
  • Chlorine: This is a fascinating element that is found in all living tissue. Chlorine is essential for the function of cleansing the body of debris. It is also exchanged in the stomach to produce hydrochloric acid, a very necessary acid for protein digestion.
  • Sulfur is another cleansing and joining mineral. It is an important element for digestion and detoxification in the liver. It is needed for the joints and in all connective tissue. This includes the hair, skin and nails. Most dietary sulfur comes from sulfur-containing amino acids found mainly in animal protein foods. Deficiency can affect hair, nails, skin, joints, energy and the ability to detoxify poisons.
  • Phosphorus is the fiery energy mineral. It is required for energy production, DNA synthesis and protein synthesis. It is also needed for calcium metabolism, muscle contraction and cell membrane structure.
  • Iron is the oxygen carrier and an energy mineral as well. It is required in hemoglobin for transporting oxygen in the blood, for detoxification and for energy production in the cells.
  • Copper is a female element because it is needed more for certain functions in women. It is also called the emotional mineral, because it tends to enhance all emotions when it is high in the body. It is extremely important for women’s fertility and sexual function, and its levels often vary up and down with the level of estrogen. Copper is also required for healthy arteries, pigments in hair and skin, blood formation, energy production and for neurotransmitter substances such as dopamine.
  • Manganese was called the maternal element, because in a few studies, animals deprived of this element did not nurture their young. Manganese is actually a very complex mineral needed for many body functions. It is involved in cholesterol synthesis and bone growth. It is also needed for healthy tendons and ligaments, and for fat and sugar metabolism. Most people are deficient in biologically available manganese, as they are in zinc, selenium, chromium and other vital trace elements today. Most people also have too much of a biologically unavailable form of manganese.
  • Zinc is sometimes called the gentle strength mineral. It is a male mineral, so called because it is more essential for men than for women in some ways, although it is certainly essential for women as well. it is required for hundreds of enzymes in the human body. These include the sense of taste and smell, vision, growth, sexual development, digestive enzyme production, male potency, prostate gland health, blood sugar regulation and processing of alcohol. Zinc is very important for the joints, the skin, wound healing, and to prevent birth defects. Zinc helps prevent diabetes, acne, epilepsy and childhood hyperactivity, and helps detoxify heavy metals. Adequate zinc has a calming effect and is needed to regenerate all body tissues.
  • Chromium is called the blood sugar mineral. It is also energy mineral. A desert rodent called the sand rat develops diabetes when fed a laboratory diet. When returned to the desert, the diabetes goes away. Extensive research indicates the problem with the laboratory food is a lack of chromium. Chromium is essential to for insulin metabolism. It can also help lower cholesterol. Chromium deficiency is very common, especially in middle-aged and older people.
  • Selenium is called the spiritual mineral because it is required for the development of certain higher brain centers. It also gives a smooth, flexible and soft quality to the personality and even to the tissues of the body. Selenium is vital for detoxification and for thyroid activity in the human body, among its many functions. It is also needed for protein synthesis, helps the body gets rid of toxic cadmium and mercury, and is needed for antioxidant production (glutathione peroxidase). As an anti-oxidant, it may help prevent cancer and birth defects. .
  • Lithium is the brain protection mineral. It has a calming, balancing and protective effect on the brain and the entire nervous system. It is found in many natural foods so it is not necessary to supplement it in many cases. However, anyone who is taking an anti-depressant or any brain-altering drug, or is suffering from any brain-related problem may benefit from a natural lithium supplement such as lithium orotate. The lithium used by medical doctors for bipolar disorder is quite toxic and should be avoided if at all possible. The natural product is far less potent, but is better absorbed and much less toxic or perhaps totally non-toxic
  • Cobalt is the vitamin B12 mineral. It is essential for life as part of the vitamin B12 molecule. Vitamin B12 is required for the nervous system and blood formation. It is found in animal products. Deficiency causes anemia and a very severe dementia that can be irreversible. Deficiency can easily occur in strict vegetarians and in those with impaired digestion or any disorder of the stomach.
  • Iodine is the thyroid mineral, although it is required for all the cells of the body. It is somewhat more important for women. It is needed to make thyroid hormones, and for the regulation of metabolism. It is important for women’s breast health, cancer prevention and many other body functions in somewhat mysterious ways.
  • Boron may be called the plant mineral. It is very essential for plants, though perhaps less so for human beings. Boron can help maintain female hormone production and bone integrity.
  • Silicon is important for the bones and skin. Silicon and selenium also are both spiritual minerals needed for higher brain activity.

HOW DOES KAMD WORK IN HUMAN BODY?
KAMD activates the body’s system which includes:
Caution: Damaged skin or skin that is in bad health can have a stinging sensation when you use the concentrated minerals. Try a drop on the skin & if it stings then dilute the drops with some water. After using a few times the skin will handle the minerals better. Also be careful with the eyes & with other sensitive parts of the body.

What doctors are saying about different minerals?
Calcium deficiency is the major dietary deficiency in America's children today," Dr. Duane Alexander, director of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development
Dr. Mildred S. Seelig, MD, MPH, author of "The Magnesium Factor" says “Most modern heart disease is caused by magnesium deficiency. A vast and convincing body of research, largely ignored, has convinced us and many collegues of this fact."
“Research has overwhelmingly demonstrated the critical relationship between low levels of magnesium and cardiovascular disease. So many hypertensive (high blood pressure) patients could benefit from increased intake of this mineral." Dr. Julian Whitaker, MD, one of America's best-known doctors of integrative medicine and author of best seller "Shed 10 years in 10 weeks"
People who exercise or work hard are at an increased risk for short-term sodium deficiency because their bodies lose sodium through perspiration. For example, a manual laborer who works for eight hours on a 100 degree Fahrenheit day might lose as much as 8 g of sodium to perspiration, according to "Dr. Jensen's Guide to Body Chemistry & Nutrition." Athletes also lose much sodium through perspiration.
According to Dr. Joel Wallach-“that all diseases are due to mineral deficiencies, that everyone who dies of natural causes dies because of mineral deficiencies”.
According to Dr. by Sonni Alvarez, I.D., M.N. – “If there is a problem with poor digestion & assimilation, the best method might be to add liquid minerals to the diet, to afford easier absorption & rapid assimilation. Liquid minerals from the sea, a natural source, have shown beneficial results in the shortest length of time.
“You can trace every sickness, every disease, and every ailment to a mineral deficiency." - Dr. Linus Pauling, two-time Nobel Prize winner
Dr. Gary Price Todd echoed this sentiment when he stated, "The lack of minerals is the root of all disease."
"In the absence of minerals, vitamins have no function. Lacking vitamins, the system can make use of the minerals, but lacking minerals vitamins are useless."
- Dr. Charles Northern, researcher and MD
Mineral Requirement for General Well Being
Minerals are essential for good health. The body utilizes over 80 minerals for maximum function. Because our plants and soils are so nutrient depleted, even if we eat the healthiest foods, we are not getting all the minerals we need. Evidence of mineral malnutrition are various minor and serious health conditions such as energy loss, premature aging, diminished senses, and degenerative diseases like osteoporosis, heart disease, and cancer. In many cases, these could be prevented with proper mineral supplementation. The more you learn about the benefits of minerals, the more you will be able to take charge of your own health!
Every living cell depends on minerals for proper structure and function. Minerals are needed for the formation of blood and bones, the proper composition of body fluids, healthy nerve function, proper operation of the cardiovascular system, among others. Like vitamins, minerals function as coenzymes, enabling the body to perform its functions including energy production, growth and healing. Because all enzyme activities involve minerals, they are essential for the proper utilization of vitamins and other nutrients. Nutritionally, minerals are grouped into two categories: bulk or essential minerals, also called macrominerals, and trace minerals or microminerals. Macrominerals such as calcium and magnesium are needed by the body in larger amounts. Although only minute quantities of trace minerals are needed, they are nevertheless important for good health. Microminerals include boron, chromium, iron, zinc, and many others.
Minerals are found in their pure elemental form or as salts such as sodium chloride and zinc sulfate. They are the most commonly used form in nutritional supplements, especially for the essential minerals, because larger amounts are indicated. They are generally the least expensive form of minerals but their primary disadvantage is that their degree of absorption is the least of all three forms. Although they have their place, metallic minerals do not represent the full spectrum of all the trace minerals that are known to be of value in human nutrition.
Minerals are the next step up the ladder in so far as the body's ability to assimilate. The term "chelate" originates from a Greek word that means "claw." In this process, be it either in the laboratory or in nature itself, a metallic mineral is "chelated" with an amino acid. The amino acid actually surrounds the metallic mineral like a claw and thereby helps to solubilize it, making the "mineral chelate" more bioavailable or useful to the body. Examples of chelated minerals are the magnesium aspartate (magnesium chelated with the natural aspartic acid) and chromium picolinate (chromium chelated with picolinic acid). In many cases, chelated minerals are about 40% more efficient in regards to absorption and assimilation into the body than metallic minerals.
Inonic minerals are those that occur in nature in the colloid state. That is, they are minute particles that either are or can be easily dispersed in a medium such as water. In that they are made up of such small particles, there is a major increase in surface area giving them greater exposure to the liquid or solvent they are to be distributed in. This results in increased solubility, bioavailability, absorption, and usefulness to the body. Plant-derived colloidal minerals provide the best of all forms of minerals not only because of this increased solubility but also because they are associated with natural plant tissue. This gives them all the advantages of chelated and metallic minerals and more!
Minerals for Allergy
Calcium helps relieve allergic conditions of the skin and respiratory system and magnesium may improve allergic reactions, especially if an individual who has magnesium deficiency. In addition to calcium and magnesium, the minerals manganese, potassium and zinc may improve symptoms of allergies.
One study, by researchers at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, found that laboratory animals severely deficient in magnesium had much higher blood levels of histamine when exposed to substances that trigger allergies than animals getting sufficient magnesium.
"The flow of calcium into and out of a cell helps regulate some cell function," explains Kay Franz, Ph.D., one the study's authors. "So it's possible that a magnesium deficiency changes the permeability of mast cell membranes, allowing calcium to more easily enter cells. When that happens, histamine is released."
"Magnesium deficiency definitely accentuates the allergic situation," says Terry M. Phillips, D.Sc., Ph.D., director of the immunogenetics and immunochemistry laboratory at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and author of Winning the War Within.
"Magnesium deficiency causes the release of substances that can act on immune cells such as mast cells and basophils and make them hyperactive--more likely to release histamine," he says. Magnesium deficiency also causes other immune responses in the body that can lead to redness, swelling and pain.
MINERALS FOR HEALTHIER HEARTS
Beyond the roles played by magnesium in helping to prevent osteoporosis and to increase bone density, Dr. Mark Sircus notes that cultures in which the ratio of calcium to magnesium intake is low (e.g., Japan) enjoy superior cardiovascular health and relatively low rates of cardiac death. Conversely, cultures consuming the highest ratios of calcium to magnesium (e.g., Australia, USA, and Scandinavian countries) exhibit among the highest rates of cardiovascular diseases in the world. It is clear to Dr. Sircus and others that cultures (and individuals) maintaining high magnesium intakes generally do not suffer from heart-related diseases to anywhere near the same degree in comparison to cultures (and individuals) not maintaining high intakes (i.e., those consuming relatively lower intakes of magnesium). He notes that the Japanese, for example, derive most of their magnesium from consuming sea vegetables and single-cell algae (e.g., chlorella and spirulina), and a wide variety ocean-related food sources. The daily intake of magnesium in Japan may be as high as 560 milligrams. It is also worth noting that the Japanese have among the lowest intakes of calcium from dairy products and exhibit one of the lowest mortality rates in the world. Magnesium is required for healthy heart function. The rapid assimilation afforded by KAMD provides immediate cardiovascular benefits and when used regularly can offer sustained high-levels of magnesium available to your heart and circulatory system!
Moreover, it is notable that the Japanese consume magnesium chloride in the form of nigari, a white powder that is created from seawater after the sodium chloride has been removed, and the seawater is evaporated. The Chinese consume a similar culinary item known as lushui. Nigari and lushui consist primarly of magnesium chloride and include some trace minerals. Nigari and lushui are added to drinking water, miso soups, steamed vegetables, etc. These ocean-derived mineral condiments are also used as coagulants in the production of tofu. It may be seen that traditional cultures whose diets include an abundance of magnesium chloride do not appear to suffer from the high incidences of diseases of the heart that are witnessed in cultures or among people where modern western diets are predominant, or in places where the consumption of overprocessed, nutritionally depleted (and magnesium-depleted) food sources has become prevalent, that is, throughout much of the civilized world. Providing sufficient magnesium to the body is one of the best ways to achieve and maintain optimal cardiovascular health. Using magnesium chloride transdermally (i.e., across the skin) is the most convenient and effective way to boost magnesium levels, thereby making it available for improving the health of your heart!
It is also notable that in North America, for example, tofu commonly is coagulated with calcium chloride (not magnesium chloride). Manufacturers typically tout the nutritional benefits of the calcium contained in tofu. The historical and overarching emphasis (by many industries and organizations) on a single mineral (i.e., calcium) not only reflects a long-term failure to consider the wider, yet well-known interrelationships among minerals, but consequently also contributes to perpetuating the types of conditions (e.g., osteoporosis) it claims to address or mitigate. Magnesium is our heart’s best friend. Providing it with an easily assimilated form of magnesium (the mineral most needed for sustaining cardiovascular health) best promotes a heart-healthy lifestyle!
Specific beneficial effects of magnesium chloride on cardiovascular health are well known to researchers and to health care professionals. Beneficial effects include preventing or reducing spasms within blood vessels in the heart, reducing calcium deposits in arteries (a known risk factor for artery blockages and thromboses), fighting inflammation in blood vessels (as measured by reduced levels of C-reactive protein), reducing homocysteine levels, and regulating the synthesis of cholesterol (by inhibiting the enzyme required for cholesterol synthesis). In particular, magnesium can raise HDL cholesterol and lower LDL cholesterol. KAMD can boost your “good” cholesterol and lower your “bad” cholesterol! It works effectively by multiple modes of action to preserve and protect your cardiovascular health!!
Minerals provides Anti Ageing effects
The synthesis of cholesterol depends on magnesium, as noted. Despite health conditions related to its overproduction, cholesterol is a vital component of many hormones. For example, magnesium is needed for the production of aldosterone, which notably regulates the balance of magnesium and other minerals in the body. It therefore may be seen that cholesterol is the mother of hormones produced in the adrenal cortex, including cortisone, hydrocortisone, aldosterone, and DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone).
It is known that reduced levels of the natural steroid DHEA (also known as the “youth and health hormone” and the “mother of all steroid hormones”) relate directly to magnesium deficiency. DHEA is considered a multi-functional steroid because it is involved in an extremely broad range of health-related biological processes, including supporting optimal metabolism, endocrine function, immune function, and stress response. The great importance of DHEA for human health is indicated by the fact that it is one of the most abundant steroids in the body and exerts antioxidant activity in vivo . DHEA helps aging men and women improve muscle strength, lean body mass, retain youthful vitality, and feel better.
DHEA is produced by the adrenal glands, ovaries (in women), and is synthesized in small quantitiesde novo in the brain. DHEA is known to act directly upon androgen receptors. DHEA also acts upon androgen receptors via its metabolites (i.e., androstenediol and androstendione) that the body ultimately converts to testosterone, estrone, and estradiol. DHEA is therefore a pro-hormone for natural sex steroids. Among other symptoms of deficiency, low levels of DHEA-S (dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate, the sulfate ester of DHEA) in men is associated with sexual dysfunction. DHEA-S has been shown to improve sexual desire and overall quality of life.
While synthetic DHEA is a popular nutritional supplement, evidence points to the greater safety and effectiveness of naturally produced (i.e., endogenous) DHEA, including lower risks from adverse effects. Enhanced natural production of DHEA is associated with physical exercise, adequate sleep (in accordance with circadian rhythms), stress reduction programs, meditation, certain types of acupuncture, caloric restriction, and natural progesterone supplementation. In addition, magnesium chloride contributes to increased DHEA production in the body. However, unlike synthetic DHEA, the natural DHEA produced in the body when magnesium levels are high will not carry the risk factors associated with synthetic DHEA. Use of magnesium chloride transdermally is an indirect, yet very effective means of increasing DHEA levels in the body. This is the safest, most natural way to boost and maintain DHEA levels.
Dr. Norman Shealy reports that magnesium chloride gradually increases natural DHEA levels, especially when applied transdermally. He suggests that when the body is provided with adequate levels of magnesium at the cellular level, it naturally begins to produce higher levels of DHEA and DHEA-S. Because the body can convert DHEA to testosterone, many benefits of increased DHEA production likely are due to the effects of testosterone. Optimal testosterone levels play an important role in many body functions, including maintaining muscle mass and bone density, regulation of blood sugar, uptake of oxygen by cells, immune system function, red blood cell production, maintaining cardiac muscle, neurological function, and sexual desire (and performance). Testosterone, for example, is the hormone most closely associated with healthy sex drive in men and women. Increased libido in women is among the reported effects of transdermal magnesium therapy.
DHEA protects the entire body against the aging process. Low levels of DHEA are linked to aging and difficulties maintaining good health. Deficiencies of DHEA are known to correlate with maladies as diverse as chronic inflammation, immune dysfunction, depression, rheumatoid arthritis, type-II diabetic complications, excess body fat, cognitive decline, heart disease, and osteoporosis. Dr. Sircus asserts that the role magnesium plays in the transmission of hormones (insulin, thyroid, estrogen, testosterone, DHEA), neurotransmitters (dopamine, serotonin) and mineral electrolytes is significant. That is, studies show that magnesium status is the factor that controls the potential of cell membranes. Therefore, it is the status of magnesium that controls uptake and release of hormones, nutrients, and neurotransmitters (242). Because DHEA is one of the primary biomarkers of aging, the long-term effects of large amounts of magnesium (administered in a readily usable form such as transdermal magnesium chloride) is the significant elevation of DHEA levels and the reversal of many of the symptoms of aging. DHEA provides natural protection from age-related conditions and from premature aging due to hormone imbalances. It is notable that DHEA (like magnesium) is depleted by chronic stress. It is important that high levels of magnesium be sustained in order to gain the optimum benefits it provides in terms of DHEA production and balance in the endocrine system. Maintaining high magnesium status is the best way to ensure healthy levels of DHEA (and other hormones) naturally! KAMD is an effective, natural modality that can ensure high levels of magnesium are available for production of hormones, including DHEA.
When the body is provided with an abundant supply of essential nutrients (including magnesium) that it needs to produce, regulate, and balance its own hormones (and that are known to support healthy endocrine function), then it is more likely that irregularities and deficiencies and the health-related problems that accompany them will decline or disappear. That is, proper nutrition that supports healthy endocrine function provides a foundation upon which good hormonal and reproductive health can be established and maintained. Studies indicate the importance of magnesium for reproductive health not only in supporting reproductive organs and systems throughout life (for both genders), but also its importance in healthy pregnancy (from conception to birth) for mother and child, and maintaining the health of the reproductive system into middle age and beyond (236). The body requires sufficient levels of magnesium in order to achieve optimal health during the entire life cycle. Magnesium chloride supports the endocrine system (i.e., the hormonal system) in ways that synthetic hormones cannot. KAMD helps the body by allowing it to determine when and how it synthesizes its own hormones! Plentiful amounts of magnesium help ensure a smooth-running endocrine system, which is a major contributor to vibrant, healthy living, greater longevity, and high quality-of-life!
Given the fact that natural DHEA synthesis (i.e., endogenous production) in the body declines with advancing age (and the association of low DHEA levels with various health-related conditions, including diminished sex drive and performance), it appears that providing the body with the nutrients it requires to ensure optimal DHEA synthesis is a highly useful adjunct for supporting good health. Magnesium chloride applied transdermally is an ideal means to provide the body with abundant levels of magnesium required to ensure optimal DHEA production. In turn, optimal DHEA production provides for natural synthesis of sex hormones and wide-ranging benefits throughout the body.
Minerals for Diabetes
According to journal Diabetes Care of U.S the recent studies shows that diabetics often have inadequate levels of chromium, magnesium and zinc. All three of these nutrients play a vital role in supporting health in those with blood sugar abnormalities.
When most people think about minerals and diabetes the first thing that comes to mind is the trace element chromium. It’s a reasonable association since chromium has been used extensively to help manage blood sugar in type 2 diabetics for decades. But there are other minerals that are often lacking in diabetic and pre-diabetic individuals. If these deficiencies are addressed, it may reduce the damage that poor blood glucose control can bring about.
The foundation of true wellness is predicated upon an individualized diet and responsible lifestyle choices. In this respect, diabetes presents an excellent model. Without incorporating a suitable diet and eliminating harmful habits, it’s nearly impossible to successfully prevent the ravages of this chronic disease. If, on the other hand, a proactive approach is taken, then good health is within reach for anyone with adult-onset diabetes.
Nutrient dense foods are at the core of a health promoting diet. The greater the percentage of whole foods in our diets, the more likely we are to meet nutrient requirements. The addition of nutritional supplements can be helpful in compensating for nutrients that are hard to attain in the typical daily diet. But, keep in mind that supplements are given their name because they are intended to supplement a healthful diet and way of living.
Choosing foods that are rich in calcium, chromium, magnesium and zinc is important for us all. But it’s even more important in situations where we have a health condition that may require additional support, such as diabetes. Ideally it would be helpful to have mineral levels tested regularly to check for excesses or insufficiencies. But if that’s not an option, then at least make sure to cover all of your bases by eating the most nutritious diet possible and including certain key supplements to help fill in any nutritional gaps. With KAMD prevent yourself from diabetes!
Minerals for Hypertension
Increased intake in minerals such as potassium, and possibly magnesium and calcium via the diet may reduce high blood pressure risk, U.S. researchers said.
The study, published in The Journal of Clinical Hypertension, also said that high intake of these minerals in the diet may also reduce the risk of coronary heart disease and stroke.
Study author Mark C. Houston of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine said that people around the globe consume double the sodium and about half of the potassium recommended. In isolated societies consuming diets high in fruits and vegetables, hypertension affects 1 percent of the population, whereas in industrialized countries which consume diets high in processed foods and large amounts of dietary sodium, 1 in 3 persons have hypertension, Houston said.
If people were able to increase their potassium intake, the number of adults with known hypertension with blood pressure levels higher than 140/90 mm Hg might decrease by more than 10 percent and increase life expectancy.
Similar studies show that diets high in magnesium -- at least 500 to 1,000 mg/d -- and calcium at more than 800 mg/d may also be associated with a decrease in blood pressure and risk of developing hypertension, but data regarding these minerals are not definitive, the researchers said minerals are really necessary for reducing the risk of hypertension.
Minerals help in Osteoporosis
The Linus Pauling Institute supports Although decreased bone mineral density (BMD) is the primary feature of osteoporosis, other osteoporotic changes in the collagenous matrix and mineral components of bone may result in bones that are brittle and more susceptible to fracture. Magnesium comprises about 1% of bone mineral and is known to influence both bone matrix and bone mineral metabolism. As the magnesium content of bone mineral decreases, bone crystals become larger and more brittle. Some studies have found lower magnesium content and larger bone crystals in bones of osteoporotic women compared to non-osteoporotic controls. Inadequate serum magnesium levels are known to result in low serum calcium levels, resistance to parathyroid hormone action, and resistance to some of the effects of vitamin D, all of which can lead to increased bone loss. A study of over 900 elderly men and women found higher dietary magnesium intakes were associated with increased bone mineral density at the hip in both men and women. However, because magnesium and potassium are present in many of the same foods, the effect of dietary magnesium could not be isolated. More recently, a study in over 2,000 elderly individuals reported that magnesium intake was positively associated with total-body BMD in white men and women but not in black men and women. Few studies have addressed the effect of magnesium supplementation on bone mineral density or osteoporosis in humans. In a small group of postmenopausal women with osteoporosis, magnesium supplementation of 750 mg/day for the first six months followed by 250 mg/day for 18 more months resulted in increased BMD at the wrist after one year, with no further increase after two years of supplementation. A study in postmenopausal women who were taking estrogen replacement therapy and also a multivitamin found that supplementation with an additional 500 mg/day of magnesium and 600 mg/day of calcium resulted in increased BMD at the heel compared to postmenopausal women receiving only estrogen replacement therapy. Presently, the potential for increased magnesium intake to influence calcium and bone metabolism warrants more research with particular attention to its role in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.
Minerals Helpful in Strokes
The new report comes from a team of scientists at the the Karolinska Institute in Sweden and was published in the "Stroke" journal of the American Heart Association:
Besides cancer and heart diseases, stroke is the third leading cause of death. Approximate 1/4 of all stroke victims die as a direct result of the stroke or it's complications. Stroke is caused by uncontrolled diet that is high in saturated and trans fats resulting in cholesterol build up in the arteries and high blood pressure. In other words, if cholesterol building up in the arteries is blocking the circulation of blood in any part of the body causing oxygen not to be delivered to the brain, resulting in some cells in the brain to die off and are unable reproduce, then we have stroke. Other strokes happen when a blood vessel in the brain ruptures causing the cells in your brain to be deprived of oxygen in your blood, they die and never come back.
The best advice to anyone seeking nutrition counseling is still to eat a balanced diet, avoid foods that contain saturated and Trans fatty acid, and include plenty of fruit and vegetables. But even the most conservative nutritionists are now starting to suggest that for many people the use of mineral supplements may be a good idea. Even the most careful consumer often can’t get enough of specific minerals that are being shown to be beneficial to health. This is because the studies that have shown the benefits of and minerals against disease and infection have used levels that are higher than one would get by eating even a normal healthy diet. As a result, supplements are becoming a common part of many people’s self-administered health program.
Even the most conservative nutritionists are now starting to suggest that for many people the use of vitamin and mineral supplements may be a good idea.
A new study carried out in China indicates that, for certain sectors of the population, vitamin and mineral supplements may be effective in reducing the risk of strokes. The five year study carried out in the province of Linxian reported the greatest effect of supplements in high risk patients - patients sixty years old or greater and those with high systolic blood pressure. Risk of stroke was reduced by 29% in those patients taking supplements containing vitamin A, zinc, beta-carotene, selenium and alpha-tocopherol. Those taking selenium supplements had a reduced overall mortality of 9% and a reduction of deaths due to cancer of 13%.
Looking at the ingredients of the supplements that were used in this Chinese study, it would appear that, once again, antioxidants are showing that they may be beneficial to health. Minerals that were used are either antioxidants themselves or are linked to the metabolism free radicals in the body. It would appear that any mechanism that can lead to the reduction of the number of free radicals in the body or that can speed up the removal of free radicals from cells can be beneficial to a wide range of diseases. This Chinese study adds stroke to the list of maladies that may be combated using antioxidants.
